      Airport Starbucks Promo

At the airport, pretty much the only place open on the B terminal is Starbucks. I stopped in to get a water and tea and they stamped my receipt with this special promo. I'm in an airport... I won't be back after 2 p.m., hopefully. Being an HMS host run Starbucks I'm sure it doesn't apply to most other locations. Ridiculous promotion, or am I missing something?

      Starbucks Name

On a previous trip to AZ this year, one of my coworkers in the Scottsdale office asked me if I stole Katie's coffee at Starbucks or if I purposely gave them another name.  I did not steal Katie's coffee.

When I go into a restaurant and put my name on this wait list, I rarely use my own name. Most of my friends know this and usually just assume I put it under their name instead. This is because no one spells it right, very few people say it correctly, and sometimes it is mistaken for "Karen."  It is just easier to give them another name and I do this so often that AJ has requested that from now on I don't put it under his name instead I was "Jim Bob."

This practice boils over to coffee runs at any coffee shop where I order and have to wait.  When I am in Arizona I got to Starbucks across the street from the office- one of the only times you will find me in a chain coffee shop since I am not native to the area and aware of better local alternatives- and when I do I use my coffee name.   Yesterday and today I decided my Starbucks name would be "Penny" and when I was there yesterday the Barista said to me, "I don't know why I don't remember that, you are in here all the time"  Poor girl, she has no idea that the reason she can't remember my name is because I'm not in there very often and last time I was there as "Katie."
