I'm headed to Denver in the morning to drive to Nebraska for this year's installment of the Lock Malm Fish Fest, a family fishing competition that is sure to be vicious.
This is the 3rd year we have done this over the 4th of July on a regular basis, although I spent a lot of time on the farm when I was in middle and high school fishing and hanging out. Last year was full of traumatic events, but we don't need to talk about those. Instead, here is a highlights reel of some of my favorite pics including some of the fish I've caught, but won't touch.
They include pictures of camp, the lakes, the fish, the farm, the family (my siblings, parents, niece, and my mom's cousins), potato digging, the boat we had to plug with a tampon (it worked), and FIREWORKS!! Fireworks are legal in Nebraska and I have to admit that it is one of my favorite things. There is also a lot of PBR involved in fishing which makes it more enjoyable.
I will post more pictured from this year although I can't find my camera charger. Everyone says to just use my iPhone- or buy a new better iPhone- but even if I did I would never drag it into a boat with me on the water... it doesn't deserve that, but the camera I am less worried about.
Enjoy the holiday :)
