  Chickens and why Utah is a great place to live

  I get asked often why I like living in Utah. Tonight was a perfect example of why I like it here. I had a bit of a crappy day, needed something to blow off steam so after work I met up with Tracy and Jeremy to watch some kickball down at the park. Just a few blocks from my house the World Adult Kickball Association (WAKA) meets on Thursday night and there are 8 kickball games and lots of public drinking that seems to go unnoticed by the authorities. After the game, you can join them up the street at the bar, but tonight we went to Mike's house instead.
  When I got to Mike's, I found him outside watching the chickens and watering the garden. As everyone got there we gathered around and talked about chickens and growing things and the weather was perfect for some time outside. Eventually we moved inside and played some Fluxx and Dominos. We talked about camping, the races this weekend, Tracy's impending baby birth (Ruby is due a week from tomorrow!), and just hung out.
  
  The weather was great, the people are great, the chickens are happy, and I feel better about the world- and it was nothing special, just another day in Utah.
