I bought my plane ticket today to go home for 4th of July and head out to the farm in Nebraska for some fishing.  I had some options since the prices on Kayak were all pretty competitive, but as usual I went to Southwest to shop around.  Tickets were pretty much the same price all around, but what made me choose Southwest?  No baggage fees.

I use Delta for almost all of my work travel, in fact I pretty much insist on it now unless there is a much cheaper option, but for this trip I know I will need some luggage because 5 days on the farm requires a lot more than a business trip where I can carry-on.  If you consider the fees, the choices are clear.  Consumers are smart and airlines should smarten up, it would be nice to see Online Travel Aggregators like Kayak start including a note by all prices about the baggage fees for each as a clear reminder to us all of the actual cost of travel.
